I have had my a37 for about 2 months and finding it a great camera, but just recently been having videos importing problems. I haven't found a simple way to import the results onto my Mac.
With its usual alacrity, A37 has a role to play in ensuring the line-up makes sense. Many owners have started shooting AVCHD video at the highest quality on Sony SLT A37. When the users examine the results in Finder it appears as a single package, whether shot one or several videos. Neither iMovie nor Aperture recognize the file, so to import at the moment some users examine the package contents and drag over the individual video files… You should note that you have loosed metadata in the process. In that situation, how to import AVCHD video from Sony SLT A37 on Mac easily for playback or editing?
We just went through this and found that if upgrade operating system to Mountain Lion you could preview the AVCHD videos in QuickTime. Final Cut Pro X, or iMovie 11 will also recognize the AVCHD files. Alternately you can transcode Sony A37 AVCHD video to Mac format .mov with this top Sony SLT A37 video software for Mac.
